If you happen to accidentally tip over a bottle of nail polish while you’re painting your nails and it gets on your carpet, don’t panic! Listed below are two different methods you can use to try and remove nail polish stains from your carpet…
Method 1:
1)Wet the nail polish stain with cold water.
2)Spray 15-20 pumps of hair spray onto the stain, followed by 3-5 splashes of rubbing alcohol.
3)Scrub the nail polish stain using a small scrub brush for about a minute. While scrubbing, pour clean, cold water onto the stain and continue to do so throughout the stain removal process.
4)Repeat these steps until the stain is no longer visible.
Method 2:
1)Try and absorb as much of the stain as you can with a paper towel or clean dish towel. Do not scrub.
2)Continuously switch to a clean side of the dish towel or paper towel.
3)Gently apply a bit of non-acetone finger nail polish remover on the stain. The stain should begin to lift off of the carpet.
If the above-mentioned solutions are unsuccessful at getting nail polish out of carpet, consider scheduling an appointment with Dreyer’s DKI to receive a more in depth, heavy-duty carpet cleaning treatment.
